Trent Salkavich - Sydney Olympic Park & BALMAIN

After graduating from the University of Western Sydney in 2004 with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Podiatry, Trent had the privilege of practicing in both regional NSW and Tasmania before settling in his hometown of Sydney. He provides treatment, management and advice on all aspects of podiatric care for elite and social athletes, as well as active individuals with foot or lower limb related pathology.

Trent consulted to Penrith Panthers from 2013 - 2020, is currently the Balmain Tigers team Podiatrist and has consulted to the Sydney International Tennis tournament since 2010. He consults from Sydney Sports Medicine Centre and Biomechanica; two of Sydney's top multidisciplinary sports clinics. Trent also works with the Australian Defence Force and is responsible for walking and running gait analysis of the members and orthotic therapy to correct malalignment contributing to lower limb injury, helping to prepare members for operation. 

Having grown up playing high level tennis, Trent's competitive spirit was reignited by participating against his Uni mates in long distance events including the Port Macquarie Ironman, numerous Half Ironman events, Point to Pinnacle and the Gold Coast Marathon. Now with two kiddlets at toe, Trent enjoys HIIT and strength-based training and enjoys the post-workout piccolo. 

Trent has developed an intricate knowledge of orthotic, exercise and footwear prescription for all forms of lower limb injuries and prides himself on providing the highest level of patient care.

Emily Smith - SYDNEY OLYMPIC PARK, Balmain & SYDNEY CBD

As a high level hockey player who suffered with 'shin splints' throughout her youth, Emily knows the importance of a practitioner who thinks outside the box and systematically approaches management. Having graduated in 2005 from University of Western Sydney, Emily pursued her career in sports podiatry and became a Director of Sydney Sports Medicine Centre in 2008.

Emily’s ability to think differently has earned Emily a role with the WTA Women’s Tennis Association as a Medical Advisor (Podiatry), the Wallabies 2011 World Cup squad, the NSW Swifts Netball, Bangarra Dance Theatre, the Philippines National Women’s FIFA World Cup Football team and consulting with individual athletes including Olympians. Emily is passionate about helping individuals return to sport from injury efficiently and enjoys consulting with active people who are motivated to return from injury as a better performing athlete.

As a female who loves fashion, Emily knows the importance of being able to wear the shoes she loves, pain-free. Working closely with patients, surgeons, physicians & physiotherapists, Emily has spent over a decade researching the underlying cause of high heel pain and the perfect formula of foot support to pioneer a contemporary design of off-the-shelf orthotic to help women wear the fashion shoes they love without compromising style or space.
